We wanted to take a moment to explain why we made this change, what it means for you, and how it actually helps us keep Earthy Crunch UK sustainable, fair, and transparent — without compromising on the crunch you’re here for.
One clay does not fit all
Although two clays might look similar on the surface, they can be wildly different behind the scenes.
Some pieces are:

more labour-intensive to prepare

heavier (and therefore more expensive to ship)

rarer or seasonal

slower to process safely and consistently
Previously, a flatter pricing structure didn’t really reflect this. Tiered pricing allows us to price based on effort, scarcity, and handling, rather than forcing everything into the same bracket.
In short: it’s about accuracy, not inflation.
Fair pricing, not fast pricing
Earthy Crunch UK is intentionally small and hobby-based. We’re not bulk-importing container loads or cutting corners to drive prices down. Many of our clays come from traditional vendors, often in small batches, and require careful preparation before they ever reach your stash.
Tiered pricing helps us:

Respecting cultural origins
Many edible clays come from long-standing traditions, particularly in India and other regions where clay consumption has cultural roots. Tiered pricing allows us to reflect the true cost of respectful sourcing, rather than undervaluing materials that deserve care and context.
Cheap doesn’t always mean ethical — and we won’t pretend otherwise.
What hasn’t changed
