Details
“Deep red, iron-rich earth with a metallic edge and a smooth, creamy finish.”
Chinese Red Subsoil is a rich, iron-infused clay sourced from China, harvested for its deep red hue and dense composition. It delivers a robust, metallic flavour reminiscent of rust and iron-rich soil, balanced with subtle chalky undertones and a slightly acidic finish. Each piece has a smooth, dense, slightly creamy texture with a firm bite that dissolves effortlessly on contact — a layered journey from firm exterior to creamy, earthy finish that distinguishes it from the powdery loess-family clays elsewhere in this range.
