Details
“Soft salty crunches that crumble into creamy, earthy kaolin.”
Description
Nzu is a classic Nigerian kaolin clay known for its soft, dusty crunch, earthy mineral flavour and distinctive smoky finish. Traditionally prepared by shaping naturally sourced kaolin, lightly salting it and gently smoking it, these rounded pieces offer a softer clay experience with a clean crumble and creamy mineral breakdown.
The flavour is deeply earthy and mineral-forward, with subtle saltiness, smoky ash and faint petrichor-like notes. The texture is firm enough to give a satisfying bite but quickly breaks down into a fine, powdery clay, making Nzu a particularly distinctive example of traditional West African kaolin.
