Product Overview

Love a surprise? Mystery Mix Ups by Colour are Earthy Crunch UK’s crunchy lucky dip, packed with a constantly changing selection of natural clays, chalks, treats, chunks, crumbs and powders from across our collection.

Each Mystery Mix Up is hand-packed around a single colour family, giving you a box full of earthy shades and complementary textures without knowing exactly which products you'll receive.

The idea is simple: choose your colour, and leave the contents to us.

You might find recognisable favourites, smaller pieces from larger products, broken treats, crunchy chunks, loose crumbs or fine powders. The exact combination changes constantly, so no two boxes are guaranteed to be the same.

The photographs show examples of the kinds of products, colours and textures that may appear in each theme. They are examples only and are not a contents list. We deliberately don't provide a list of what is currently inside each box because, well... it's a Mystery Mix Up.

If you'd prefer to choose exactly which products you receive, our main catalogue is the place to browse. If you'd rather open a box and discover what you've got, this is your option.

Choose your colour theme

Each Mystery Mix Up is built around a particular colour family. The contents will change according to current stock, but here's an idea of the types of pieces that may appear.

❤️ Reds & Browns

A rich, earthy selection of red and brown-toned clays and treats.

You may discover Red Nakumatts, Red Clay Biscuits, chewy treats, Red Mix Hex pieces and Red Nakumatt Cracker Balls, alongside smaller pieces and loose Red Khadi and Nakumatt powders.

Expect warm terracotta, deep red earth and mineral-rich brown tones, with textures ranging from firm and crunchy through to crumbly and powdery.

🧡 Oranges

A warm-toned collection inspired by terracotta, clay pots and naturally orange earth.

Possible contents include Indian Terracottas, Mexican Terracotta, Queen Terracotta, OG Tan, orange clay chunks, crunchy clay pot crumbs and earthy orange or peach-toned powders.

These mixes tend to have a distinctly earthy and terracotta-led character, with textures ranging from dense crunchy pieces to fragile pot fragments, crumbs and softer powders.

🩶 Greys

For anyone who likes their clay a little more cementy.

Grey Mystery Mix Ups may contain cementy clays, mixed Nakumatts, Grey Mix Hex pieces, surprise treats and crunchy balls, with smaller fragments and mixed Nakumatt powder also possible.

Expect cooler natural tones and earthy profiles that can range from clean mineral notes to cementy, dusty and deeper clay characteristics.

🖤 Blacks

The darker and smokier side of the collection.

Black Mystery Mix Ups may include Smoky Sticks, Barbecue Balls, Black Cracker Cookies, Black Candy Pucks, Smoked Nakumatts and Dryfruit shards, with black candy powder and smaller smoky fragments potentially appearing throughout the box.

These mixes are ideal for anyone drawn towards darker colours and stronger sensory profiles, with possible notes of smoky earth, roasted minerals, dry clay and petrol-like aromas.

🤍 Whites

A lighter collection featuring chalks, pale clays and soft mineral textures.

Possible contents include classic chalks, chalk balls, Choco Chip Cookies and Dusty Pops, along with delicate pieces and soft White Khadi powder.

Expect textures that can range from firm chalky crunches to softer, powdery breakdowns, with clean mineral and earthy characteristics.

🩷 Pinks

A colourful selection of pink-toned clays, chalks and treats.

Your box may include Pink Ladoos, Pink Nakumatts, Rose Clay, Pink Slate Triangles and matching pink-toned powders, alongside smaller pieces and crumbs.

The texture can vary considerably depending on the contents, from dense crunchy pieces to softer, crumbly materials.

Texture & sensory experience

The whole appeal of a Mystery Mix Up is variety.

Each box contains a changing combination of textures rather than a uniform product. You may find a hard piece that snaps cleanly, a softer clay that crumbles between your fingers, a chalky piece that breaks down into powder or a tiny fragment that behaves completely differently from everything around it.

Possible textures include:

  • Dense and crunchy pieces with a satisfying snap
  • Firm clay chunks that fracture into smaller pieces
  • Crumbly treats with a softer breakdown
  • Chalky materials with a clean, powdery texture
  • Fine powders with a dry mineral feel
  • Small shards and fragments from larger products

Because the exact contents are intentionally unknown, there is no single crunch factor or flavour profile for the whole box.

That's part of the fun.

Colour & flavour personality

Each colour theme has its own general personality, but the exact sensory experience will depend on the individual materials included.

You may encounter earthy notes ranging from fresh soil after rain and damp basement through to terracotta, dusty minerals, cement, smoky earth and petrol-like characteristics.

Some pieces may have a cleaner mineral profile, while others may be noticeably darker, roasted or more intensely earthy.

The colour gives you the starting point. The contents decide what happens next.

Crunch factor: Variable –  1–5

Because every Mystery Mix Up contains different materials and fragment sizes, crunch intensity can range from soft and crumbly through to very hard and densely crunchy.

If you're looking for a specific crunch level, individual products in the main catalogue provide a more predictable experience.

ASMR level: Variable

The mixed contents create a varied soundscape, from sharp cracks and dense snaps to softer crumbles and dusty fractures.

Harder pieces tend to produce the louder sounds, while chalks, crumbs and powders create quieter, softer sensory sounds.

Why are Mystery Mix Ups discounted?

Mystery Mix Ups are offered at a lower price because they make use of fresh pieces that don't necessarily fit our standard full-sized product listings.

Boxes may contain:

  • Smaller pieces from larger products
  • Broken treats
  • Fractured chunks
  • Loose crumbs
  • Partial pieces
  • Fine powders
  • Assorted leftover portions from current batches

These are not old or expired stock.

Everything included comes from fresh, current batches in our regular collection. The lower price reflects the fact that you're receiving assorted smaller pieces, broken products, crumbs and powders rather than complete products in their original presentation.

Basically, you're getting the interesting bits without paying full price for the packaging and presentation of a standard product.

If you want specific products in their original shapes and sizes, we recommend shopping the main catalogue instead.

The Mystery is the point

One of the most important things to understand before ordering is that we cannot tell you exactly what will be inside your box.

No contents list.

No picking your favourites.

No “can I have the black one with the Smoky Sticks?”

Nope.

You choose the colour theme, and we pack the surprise.

The contents change as our stock changes, meaning even two boxes ordered from the same colour category may look completely different.

It's a sheer Mystery.

Natural variation & breakage

Natural clay and chalk materials vary naturally in colour, density, moisture, shape, size and hardness.

Because Mystery Mix Ups intentionally contain smaller pieces, broken treats, crumbs and powders, some additional crumbling may occur during packing, handling or transit.

A little loose powder or a few extra crumbs are therefore completely normal and part of the nature of this product.
